Shoppers of M&S have expressed outrage over the retailer's latest Christmas advert, with some even threatening to "boycott" the store. This year, Marks & Spencer welcomed back comedian Dawn French , who has been featured in their Christmas campaigns since 2021. ‌

In the new advert, Dawn reprises her fairy alter ego. She is shown stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic as she begins to sing along to the Chris Rae classic Driving Home for Christmas. As frustrations grown, her fairy character suddenly bursts into action, opening the doors to an M&S truck filled with festive food and saving the day. ‌

Speaking about the advert, Dawn stated: "Nothing kicks off the festive season more than the drive home for Christmas. ‌
