Last season was the definition of a championship hangover for Jaylen Brown. After leading the Boston Celtics to their 18th NBA title in 2024, Brown regressed last year as he battled injuries. After winning the Eastern Conference Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP, he was clearly diminished on the court and didn’t look like the same player.
Brown played just 63 games — the fewest of his career in a non-COVID season. His 22.2 points per game and 17.8 PER were his lowest since the 2019-2020 campaign, while his .515 effective field goal percentage was the second-lowest of his career.
Brown limped to the finish line, struggling throughout the playoffs as he played through a partially torn meniscus.
Accordingly, one of Brown’s big goals this season is to stay healthy.
“Health is key,” Brown said
