Most schools in south Yuma county received good marks in the state’s A–F grading system, with noteworthy cases such as the Gadsden Elementary School District, which continues to see steady academic progress across its campuses.

The recently released results reflect the districts’ ongoing efforts to improve their schools. However, as one superintendent pointed out, they should not be used to label any campus as a failure. Grades should not cause alarm–they should serve as an opportunity to identify areas for growth.

Schools in south Yuma county are proving that they can overcome their own challenges. They just need that essential vote of confidence to keep moving forward.
