The high-stakes trial for the wife of suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez, which was initially scheduled to begin next week, has been pushed back.
The two-week trial for Robin Lopez was scheduled to begin on November 10. Her trial is now set for Dec. 8.
Robin Lopez was initially arrested in connection with an illegal gambling enterprise investigation and was charged with conspiracy to use investment proceeds from racketeering.
Prosecutors said she helped Marcos Lopez receive payments from the illegal gambling enterprise in Central Florida that he’s accused of protecting and expanding.
She was released on bond, but was subsequently rearrested for providing false testimony about her finances during a hearing to remove her GPS ankle monitor in August.
