The spin cycle known as Section V Class AA football has washed out teams considered contenders to win the sectional championship and others which faded out of contention.
There are four teams left in the tournament, semifinalists which will play on the home fields of the higher-seeded teams.
Rush-Henrietta, the No. 1 seed in Class AA, is back in play. The Royal Comets had a bye last week during the quarterfinals. They host Penfield, a team that had to play and win in the windy and rainy conditions on Halloween.
