LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said Thursday that crews are working to identify 12 victims from the UPS cargo plane crash earlier this week while the search continues for nine others reported missing.

The mayor said crews have located six of 15 people reported missing after the crash, but the mangled wreckage in the area of the crash has made the search more difficult.

All of the missing people were in believed to be in or around the area when the plane crashed, including employees of nearby businesses . Greenberg said the bodies of the three UPS crew members were located, but their identities aren't being released.

The site is now under the control and supervision of the NTSB. Officials are expected to release more information during a news briefing schedu
