Journey, one of the most successful Bay Area bands of all time, has announced its farewell tour.

And — surprise, surprise — it does not include a Bay Area date.

The closest Journey gig on the books is an April 21 date at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, which isn’t all that far away, obviously, but still doesn’t qualify as the big hometown finale that must Bay Area would like to see.

Clearly, some kind of Bay Area Journey goodbye event needs to be in the works.

Pronto.

Until then, Journey fans can grab tickets to the Sacramento show, or one of the other dates, beginning at 10 a.m. Nov. 14, ticketmaster.com.
