(WSPA) - Passengers flying out of Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport could be impacted by flight cuts at major airports across the U.S. due to the prolonged government shutdown.
The Federal Aviation Administration announced Wednesday that it would reduce air traffic by 10% across some of the busiest airports in the country.
The cuts will impact airports in Atlanta, Denver, New York, Houston, Chicago, Orlando, Miami and others.
Flight reductions are being put in place to reduce pressure on air traffic controllers who are working without pay during the government shutdown.
Even though Greenville-Spartanburg International is not on the list of airports directly affected by the FAA's adjustments, several markets served by GSP are on the list.
