INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man has been convicted of murder in the 2024 fatal shooting of another man on the city's northeast side , prosecutors announced.

Reggie Horton was also found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felony (with the habitual offender sentencing enhancement) after a three-day jury trial in the shooting death of Dartanian Cole, the Marion County Prosecutor's Office said.

The shooting happened July 8, 2024, at an apartment complex in the 6800 block of Faris Avenue , near 42nd Street and Shadeland Avenue.

Responding IMPD officers found Cole with gunshot wounds. He later died from his injuries.

The next day, Horton's girlfriend contacted police to say she had witnessed the shooting. She told investigators that she and Horton were swimmin
