Art Rooney Jr., who was in charge of the Steelers scouting department during their Super Bowl heyday, is again a semifinalist in the Contributor category for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
Rooney, son of the team founder and brother of the late former Steelers owner/chairman Dan Rooney, is one of nine semifinalists who contributed to professional football in a variety of different ways. He was chosen from a field of 21 nominees in the most recent reduction vote by a contributor blue-ribbon committee.
The committee will meet next week to select one finalist to be presented to the full Selection Committee to consider when it votes for a new class of enshrinees in early 2026.
