BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Cpt. Brett Stassi Jr. has been released from the hospital, according to the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office.
The announcement came exactly one month after Stassi was shot at the Iberville Parish courthouse.
IPSO said his recovery will remain ongoing at home. Stassi was injured in a shooting that took the life of Deputy Charles Riley. He spent time in the ICU while at the hospital and at one point had to be put back on a ventilator.
His father, Sheriff Brett Stassi, had this to say about the response from everyone:
