NEW YORK (PIX11) -- All three major airports in the tri-state area are expected to have their flights reduced as part of nationwide air traffic cuts by the Federal Aviation Administration, a list obtained by NewsNation shows.
John F. Kennedy Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Newark Liberty International Airport are among 40 of the largest airports in the country that will operate at reduced capacity beginning on Friday.
The list obtained by NewsNation shows that virtually all major airports will have their air traffic decreased by 10% as a result of the ongoing government shutdown. Air traffic controllers have been working unpaid since the start of the shutdown, most of which are having to work six days a week, according to the Associated Press.
