Pittsburgh’s mayor-elect has announced who is slated to become his Chief of Staff and Director of Public Safety.

Corey O’Connor will appoint Dan Gilman as his Chief of Staff and nominate Sheldon Williams as the Director of Public Safety. Advertisement

Gilman is currently the Chief of Staff to the President of Duquesne University and has 17 years of experience with Pittsburgh City government. Previously, Gilman has served as a city councilman, mayoral chief of staff and city council chief of staff.

“We need to hit the ground running on day one, so we need leadership that knows the city, knows the residents, and knows how to get things done,” O’Connor said.

Williams has served 18 years in the Army Reserve and Air Force National Guard. He has been a paramedic with Pittsburg
