SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A local baker known for spreading sweetness across the community is now dealing with something pretty bitter.

The owner of Merry Cookie Company recently had her cookie cart stolen right in her front yard, but she said she is determined to keep her business going.

Michelle Lemke has loved baking for as long as she can remember and decided to turn her passion into her own business this past spring.

“I’ve always kind of wanted to put myself out there, but was a little nervous to,” said Lemke. “I thought starting my cookie cart would be a fun way just to kind of start baking for the community on the side and kind of getting my name out there and seeing what kind of cookies the community likes.”
