A former New York Police Department officer from Harriman has been accused of assisting another person in the operation of a drug trafficking enterprise in exchange for bribes.

An indictment was unsealed charging Andrew Nguyen, 41, of Harriman, with bribery, firearms, narcotics and robbery offenses in connection with his alleged participation in a drug trafficking enterprise while he was a member of the NYPD.

The indictment was announced by Jay Clayton, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York; Christopher Raia, the assistant director in charge of the New York field office of the FBI; and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
