LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced the launch of the Arkansas Plate Initiative on Thursday.
The governor described the Arkansas Plate Initiative as a "statewide effort connecting Arkansas producers with state schools to provide students with nutritious, locally sourced meals made from Arkansas-grown products."
Through the implementation of the initiative, the expectation is that it will help improve the nutrition across Arkansas. Additionally, officials hope that it will improve the connection between Arkansas agriculture and students.
