The winner of a seat on Auburn Hills City Council died shortly after the polls closed on Election Day, Nov. 4.
Greg Ouellette, a longtime leader of the city’s planning commission, earned one of four spots available on City Council in the election, according to a news release from the city. He was set to be sworn in Nov. 17.
It was Ouellette’s lifelong dream to sit on the council, according to a provided statement from his wife.

But City Manager Tom Tanghe, in the release, recognized the work Ouellette already did for the city.
