HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaiʻi filmmaker and content creator Kulani Watson is rallying the community to support his next big project — a local short film called “Ami and Slide.” The comedy follows a group of brothers trying to save their family restaurant by entering a hula competition — but before they get to the stage, they hold a hilarious “tryout” at a baby lūʻau.
“It’s really about family, community, and hope,” Watson said during an interview on Coffee with Casey. “Comedies and dramas let us recognize what’s wrong, but laugh at it — and that makes life here a little less scary.”
