Denver International Airport is among forty major airports slated to see a 10% reduction in flights by the end of the week, according to multiple news reports .

The list includes major airports across the U.S. Affected airports were expected to be named later on Nov. 6, and Denver International Airport was a logical choice. It is one of the busiest airports in the country.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said on Nov. 5 that the cuts are needed in response to the impact of the ongoing shutdown. He warned earlier in the week that the pressure on air-traffic controllers could force the Federal Aviation Administration to take actions such as flight cancellations that could disrupt air travel.
