Veterans Day is Tuesday, but Little Compton marked the date early with a packed crowd that came for a surf-and-turf dinner at the Little Compton Community Center Monday evening.
Across the street from a display of hundreds of American flags honoring veterans, guests to the town’s annual veterans’ dinner were met with cheers from a crowd that included a welcoming committee holding up a sign that thanked them for their service.
The dinner, which started in 2022, has become a popular tradition in Little Compton. In its first year, 37 veterans were treated to dinner. This year 72 were served, and that number is expected to increase next year.
