PORTSMOUTH — The Aquidneck Island Land Trust has reopened a 700-foot section of the Sakonnet Greenway Trail after replacing a worn boardwalk with a new structure dedicated to the memory of Maya L. Auchincloss.
The new “Maya L. Auchincloss Boardwalk,” located between Sandy Point Avenue and Bramans Lane, was funded primarily through the Estate of Maya Auchincloss. The project replaced an older boardwalk that had fallen into disrepair and was rebuilt with more durable, low-maintenance materials.
