ZEELAND, Mich. — The City of Zeeland is gearing up for its annual Christmas parade, with dozens of groups walking in this year's celebration.
Each year, the parade kicks off the start of the Christmas season. Over 60 walking groups and marching bands will be taking to the streets to usher in the festive spirit and, of course, Santa Claus.
It begins at the corner of Main Avenue and Centennial Street, continues west down Main Avenue to Elm Street, then turns south onto Central Avenue. The parade will turn left onto Central and end at the intersection of Central and Maple Streets.
The parade kicks off Monday, Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. Before the parade, you can enjoy caroling with Tuba Christmas at the Splash Pad Park at 5:45 p.m. and the Christmas tree lighting at 6:15 p.m.
