A 26-year-old Camden resident and former high school quarterback was gunned down Thursday, Nov. 6, authorities said.
At 6:41 a.m., Camden County police responded to the 1200 block of Chase Street in response to a ShotSpotter activation, and found Premire Wilson unconscious on the porch of a reisdent with a gunshot wound, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said.
Wilson was rushed to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced dead soon after, authorities said.
While at Camden High School, Wilson starred as quarterback for the Patriots his senior year, depsite having never played quarterback before according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. He was tough to defend, being able to win games with both his arm and his legs.
The shooting remains under investigation.
