Ross Barkley has been included in Aston Villa’s squad to face Maccabi Tel Aviv this evening.
The midfielder could make his first appearance in European competition this season after missing the first three games.
That’s because he wasn’t initially named in Villa’s List A squad for the Europa League group stage.
So when he was named on the bench to face Maccabi this evening, supporters were understandably confused.
To clear things up, Barkley has now been added to the List A squad, with Tyrone Mings removed due to injury.
Each club is permitted to make one change to their List A squad before matchday six of the Europa League group stage.
The only condition is that the player being replaced must be injured for at least 60 days from the date the injury occurred.
