The defence in the Andrew Rosenfeldt murder trial closed its case Thursday with two police officers testifying about getting called to help a young women in a mental health crisis in September 2022.
That woman was 20-year-old Nykera Brown. She had first called police around 8 p.m. on Sept. 8 asking for help because of suicidal thoughts. An officer drove her to Royal University Hospital.
Two hours later, other officers were called to the University Bridge and rescued Brown, who was standing on the railing, court heard.
Brown died of a single gunshot wound to the head in the couple's Avenue P South apartment on Nov. 15, 2022. Rosenfeldt, now 28, is on trial at Court of King's Bench before Justice Heather Macmillan-Brown, charged with second-degree murder.
