Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) President and CEO Rick Bennett is quitting after less than five months in the position, citing "personal and family reasons."

The board of directors overseeing the municipal corporation made the announcement Thursday.

REAL board chair Jaime Boldt was quoted in a statement that said nothing about the reason for the CEO’s abrupt exit.

The board is re-appointing Trent Fraser as its acting p resident and CEO, a role he held prior to Bennett's brief tenure. Fraser is currently the board chair of Tourism Saskatchewan, and sits on the board of directors for SGI Canada.
