Uprising plotters have a firm eye on ngihtmare scenarios such as Syria and Iraq which fell into bloody anarchy after uprisings and war - there is a risk of collapse but Iran may be different.

Iran rebels hope the collapse of Tehran’s regime would give way to democracy. In the early 50’s Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh tried to impose a constitution and reforms aiming to let the Shah “reign but not rule.”

This was a move towards a kind of democratic monarchy and workable parliament - even a free press. But a 1953 coup put the Shah back in power. Much of the issues hitting Middle East stability pivot from Tehran whose all- powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps seek constant expansion.
