WESTLAKE, Ohio — A 36-year-old Lorain man was arrested early Thursday morning after police say he led officers on a high-speed chase through multiple cities before crashing and being caught with cocaine, heroin and fentanyl in Westlake.
According to Westlake police, officers spotted a red Ford Ranger speeding more than 70 mph along Center Ridge Road around 1:10 a.m., where the posted speed limit is 35 mph. The driver reportedly ran a red light at Bradley Road, prompting officers to attempt a traffic stop.
Police said the driver ignored lights and sirens and continued westbound into North Ridgeville, weaving across lane lines and disregarding stop signs before looping back into Westlake. Officers used a pursuit intervention technique, or PIT maneuver, after the truck turned south on B
