CONCORD, N.H. —

At their meeting on Monday, the Concord Board of Education addressed the rising population of homeless students.

"One of the areas that I see an increase that I'm concerned about is the homeless students," board member Sarah Sadowski said.

The current number of unhoused students in the city is 86, which has increased by 13 since last month, according to the board.

The board said they will closely monitor this number to provide support to those experiencing homelessness.

"It's a very dynamic number and I appreciate you keeping such close track of that so that we can assist those families,” board member Jim Richards said.

This month's count of unhoused students is down from last year, when the district averaged about 100 per month, officials said.
