FERRYSBURG, MI - The Ferrysburg City Council approved this week the purchase of new toddler playground equipment for William Ferry Park.

The total cost to the city will be $22,418.66, which is over the original $15,000 budget but includes a $7,800 discount from the vendor, Sinclair Recreation, according to city records.

The park is located at 110 Pine Street.

The Sapling Play Structure chosen by the city is designed like a tree with a slide and monkey bars.

The replacement was needed after a tree fell on the previous structure.

The 2025-26 city budget has $11,000 allotted for new picnic tables and $8,000 for new trash containers at parks, which could be cut in half to help with this payment, according to Craig Bessinger, city manager. There is also $15,000 left over from a painting pr
