After years of delays, a 95-unit housing project is inching forward in Battle Ground.
During an Oct. 20 meeting, the Battle Ground City Council approved two ordinances that clear the way for the Eaton Park apartment complex, which will include 19 affordable units.
The first ordinance designates the property where the complex would be built as a residential target area, which qualifies Eaton Park for Battle Ground’s property tax exemption for multifamily developments. The ordinance passed with a 5-2 vote.
The second ordinance, adopted in a 4-3 vote, revised the city’s municipal code to allow qualifying projects a 12-year property tax exemption.
The Eaton Park project has evolved since it was proposed in 2023.
