FORT WORTH, Texas — The Texas Education Agency upheld its decision Thursday morning to appoint a Board of Managers and a conservator for Fort Worth ISD, according to a statement from the district's superintendent, Dr. Karen Molinar.
Christopher Ruszkowski has been appointed conservator to oversee and support immediate efforts to improve the district. Ruszkowski comes to Fort Worth with experience ranging from being a social studies teacher to New Mexico's Secretary of Education.
According to Molinar's statement, TEA is taking applications for the Board of Managers as well as the superintendent search.
Molinar said again she plans to apply for the superintendent position to keep her role in the district.
"The focus remains on meeting the needs of our students in FWISD," Molinar stated
