Srinagar, Nov 06: In a major step towards expanding India’s high-speed rail network in the north, the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited has invited bids for preparing the final alignment design of the proposed Amritsar–Jammu High-Speed Rail Corridor.

According to the tender notice, NHSRCL has called for e-tenders from eligible firms to undertake the alignment design work for the project, estimated to cost Rs 75.47 crore. The move marks an important milestone in the government’s plan to strengthen rail connectivity between Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir through a modern high-speed transport system.

The proposed corridor will stretch over 240 kilometres, offering ultra-fast and seamless connectivity between Amritsar and Jammu.
