Two women have been arrested following a theft at a Brockville grocery store on Tuesday.
At about 6:45 p.m., police were called to the Real Canadian Superstore about a theft in progress, where bystanders had witnessed two women taking items and concealing them in their purses and bags.
When police arrived they found the two suspects off the west side of the grocery store property near Crocker Crescent.
According to police, the two suspects were later identified to be a 37-year-old woman from Belleville and a 39-year-old woman from Brighton.
Police said that when officers approached the two suspects, the 37-year-old woman fled on foot, but was caught and arrested a short distance away.
