SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- Code inspectors shut down Fayette Street Parking Garage in downtown Syracuse due to safety hazards.
The city-owned garage, located at 300 E. Fayette St., closes today. Drivers can not re-enter after exiting.
The Mayor's Office announced the closure of the garage after city engineers inspected the 41-year-old structure yesterday and found significant signs of deterioration.
Jake Dishaw, the city's Deputy Commissioner of Code Enforcement and Zoning Administration, ordered the closure after inspecting the site today.
