The Texas Book Festival began thirty years ago, when it was cofounded by Laura Bush—the first lady of Texas at the time—and the Austin civic leader Mary Margaret Farabee. Today, the festival is an institution in Texas culture, bringing authors and book-lovers from all over the world to the Texas state capitol grounds each fall.

To preview this year’s festival on TM Out Loud , host Katy Vine is joined by Texas Book Festival chief operating officer Dalia Azim and Texas author Fernando A. Flores, whose new novel Brother Brontë is also a recent selection in our new Texas Book Club. TM Audio subscribers can listen to this article.
