SOUTHFIELD – The Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation hosted its 17th annual signature gala on Nov. 1 at the MGM Grand Detroit, bringing together 700 tech professionals and corporate partners.

Dubbed the Celestial Ball, the evening supported by host sponsor Borg Warner pledged around $340,000 in gross funds to further the nonprofit’s mission of inspiring and growing women in tech. MCWT spokeswoman Kathleen Norton-Schock provides the details in this MITech TV video interview.

Throughout 2024, MCWT demonstrated notable impact, awarding $171,500 in scholarships to 49 female students committed to pursuing tech careers in Michigan. Since 2002, the nonprofit has awarded 409 scholarships totaling more than $2 million to deserving women pursuing technology-focused degrees.
