The parents of one of the girls murdered by Axel Rudakubana has told the Southport Inquiry that the killer's parents should be "held accountable" for their 'failings'. ‌

Jenni and David Stancombe, whose seven-year-old daughter Elsie was one of three girls murdered by Rudakubana while attending a Taylor Swift-themed dance group attack last summer, believe the killer's parents "should be culpable". ‌

Rudakubana, then aged 17, murdered Elsie, six-year-old Bebe King and nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar on July 29, 2024. He was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 52 years after admitting the offences, as well as 10 other counts of attempted murder, in January. ‌
