PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Crews are set to begin three weekend-long construction projects on several major highways, impacting traffic across Rhode Island starting Friday, Nov. 7.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is reminding drivers to consider alternate routes and factor in extra travel time as bridge and road work takes place on I-95 in Providence, Route 146 in North Smithfield, and on I-95 and Route 4 in Warwick and East Greenwich.

Providence • Nov. 7-10 and Nov. 14-17 • Friday at 8 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. • I-95 near Roger Williams Park Zoo

Traffic will be reduced to two lanes on I-95 starting after the Route 10 interchange (Exit 33) for northbound traffic and after the Thurbers Avenue interchange (Exit 35) for southbound traffic.
