EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) - The Tri-State Food Bank receives a check it says will help fight against food insecurity.
The Pearls of Distinction Foundation and the Zeta Zeta Omega Chapter of AKA Society presented the $1,000 check Thursday.
The food bank says they plan to use the money to help families impacted by the SNAP shortage.
Food bank officials say many families are living in panic. They also say there is a lot of misconceptions about how the SNAP program works.
The Tri-State Food Bank will host a food giveaway event Friday morning at 9 a.m. at 6200 South Kentucky Avenue.
