(KBTX) - Texas A&M wide receiver and return specialist KC Concepcion was named a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award, given annually to the most versatile player in college football.

Concepcion is one of six finalists and the only player from the SEC up for the award. The 8-0 Aggies have caught the attention of a national audience this season.

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko said he campaigns for his players for individual awards but does not discuss them with the team.

“The head football coach doesn’t talk about those things at all. He doesn’t talk to players about individual awards. He doesn’t talk about those types of things. Those things are completely irrelevant to the job at hand, right? The job at hand is to figure out how to play our best football Saturday against Missouri,” Elko
