QUEENS, New York (WKBN) - The New York Mets have claimed infielder Ji Hwan Bae off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The 26-year old was once considered a top-15 prospect for Pittsburgh.
He originally signed with the Pirates as an international free agent in 2018.
Last season, he appeared in 13 games with the Pirates, posting a .050 batting average with one hit in 25 plate appearances.
For his career, he has appeared in 163 games with Pittsburgh. He owns a career batting average of .223 with two home runs, 44 RBIs, and 37 stolen bases.
