District 1 City Council member and mayor pro tem Emily Francis will be the the next mayor of Fort Collins.

In the city's first ranked voting election, Francis beat out six other candidates for mayor, with District 3 council member Tricia Canonico coming in second.

Francis will lead a City Council made up of who appear to be like-minded people focused on affordability most of all, with an emphasis on housing.
