NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WKBN) - For New Castle native Jens Lee, his career in dance started 25 years ago when he was a nursing student at Youngstown State.
"I went to get more credits in liberal arts, so I took a ballet class. That's where I actually met Miss Anita Lyn, who was the director of the Ballet Western Reserve at the time," Lee said.
Lee was convinced to join the local company where he studied and performed for several years.
"From there, I did cruise lines, professional Shakespeare shows up in Cleveland," he said.
Next month, Lee returns to the local stage in this year's performance of the "Nutcracker," playing the Cavalier along with a cast of more than 100 children from the area and the Youngstown Symphony. He calls the chance to come back to his dancing roots "humbling."
