LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Days after a deadly plane crash, investigators are still combing through a half-mile long debris field south of Louisville’s international airport, searching for answers.

At least 12 people were killed and a dozen more were injured after a UPS cargo plane crashed shortly after taking off from Louisville’s Muhammad Ali International Airport around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Mayor Craig Greenberg said nine people are still unaccounted for as of Thursday morning.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said it has recovered the plane's black box, which contains crucial flight data and the cockpit voice recorder.
