A New Jersey man who has been on the run from investigators for more than two months after being charged with murder was arrested on Monday, authorities said.
Wilmer A. Velasquez-Orellans was charged on Aug. 14, a day after a man he allegedly attacked in Lindenwold in June died, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Authorities say Velasquez-Orellans, 37, hit Alvaro I. Reyes-Rizo over the head with a club at the Pinewood Estates apartment complex on the 500 block of East Gibbsboro Road.
The 5 a.m. assault was captured on video.
Velasquez-Orellans was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses following the assault before being released by a judge.
Reyes-Rizo, 42, died of his injuries on Aug. 13.
