BENTON, La. – Lynn Beaty, a lifelong resident of Haughton and respected business owner, was officially sworn in as the new Bossier Parish Police Juror for District 1 during the regular meeting held on Wednesday. Judge Jeff Thompson administered the oath of office.

Just before the swearing-in, Police Jury President Mr. Glenn Benton presented Kim Gaspard with a plaque recognizing his service and willingness to represent District 1 in honor of the late Bob Brotherton from January 25 to Oct. 1.

Beaty was elected in October to fill the seat previously held by Brotherton, a longtime public servant whose contributions to the parish were fondly remembered.
