ROCKLAND — Rockland Police say it’s back to the drawing board after voters rejected plans to build a new $5 million police station.
In recent years, health and safety concerns have grown, with mold found throughout the department’s current building.
Police Chief Tim Carroll said crews completed mold remediation earlier this year to temporarily make the building safe, but the mold has since returned.
Carroll said it’s clear the department will need a new home one way or another.
“I reached back out to the bosses, the city administration, city council, and just said, ‘Okay, so now that same question now — what do we do?’” Carroll said. “Because the problem is still there.
