SPRINGFIELD, Ga. (WSAV) — The Effingham County Library Board called a special public meeting a month after the Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to end the Live Oak partnership.

The meeting was meant to be an open discussion between the public, library board and Live Oak library representatives to discuss what might be next. Officials said the options are to stay with Live Oak, become an independent county library or join the Statesboro Library.

"So, we're here to clarify that determination," Library Board Member Joanna Cartrette said. "That evening was a resolution and a vote for the commissioners. We are now tasked with what to do with that information."
