HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The government shutdown is now the longest in American history.
WSAZ asked the six U.S. senators representing West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky what they were doing to end the government shutdown and provide relief for the American people.
All the senators who responded said they are working to relieve the strain on their constituents, especially for those who are supposed to receive SNAP benefits.
U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., said in a virtual press conference Thursday that she’s been talking with the Trump administration to get SNAP benefits reloaded.
